ABS is a thermoplastic and is one of the first FDM 3D Printing filaments. Compared with PLA, ABS materials boast better mechanical and thermal properties. In addition, ABS’s impact strength is higher. ABS can only print less intricate geometries though. ABS is very durable and is used for printing end-use / functional 3d printed parts and prototypes. ABS is relatively flexible and can withstand hot temperatures.
